'Heritage' River Birch  

This pyramidal tree features triangular green leaves and ornamental, exfoliating, creamy bark with white and coral patches. It is insect- and disease-resistant.

Eastern Red Bud

Eastern Red Bud 

In early spring, this plant has a long-lasting profusion of bright purplish-pink blooms borne in clusters before the leaves along smooth gray branches. Its heart-shaped, blood-red leaves are finely veined and glossy when young, slowly turning a dark, purple-tinged green in full sun. The Redbud has a graceful branching structure that stands out in winter.

Higan Double Weeping Cherry

Magnolia

'Bloodgood' is an upright form that retains its wine red leaves throughout the summer, turning scarlet in the fall. This variety grows 15-20' tall.

Zelkova

Zelkova

Japanese Zelkova has a distinctive, broad, vase shape that is attractive and unlike most other trees. It has medium-sized, dark green leaves that turn soft yellow, orange in autumn, depending on the weather. Mature trees develop interesting, flaking bark with patches of gray, tan and reddish brown. It has a high tolerance for wind, pollution, drought and compacted soils.

Eastern Red Cedar

Eastern Red Cedar

Dark blue green scale-like foliage. It is a native, broadly conical to columnar, dense, evergreen conifer with horizontal branching. Gray to reddish-brown bark with trunks that are often fluted at the base. Heartwood is light brown and aromatic, and is commonly used for cedar chests.  Foliage may turn russet-green in winter. Berry-like cones are attractive to many birds.

Rhododendron Maximum Roseum

Rhododendron Maximum Roseum

How about a flowering, evergreen screen? This is a large, upright Rhododendron. The flowers are pinkish with a hint of lilac, held upright in a pleasing, full, dome-shaped truss. The leaves are narrow and deep matte green. It blooms late, often around Memorial Day or later.
